Easy and Delicious Swiss Chard Recipe

As our vegetable garden winds down at the end of the season we are still harvesting Swiss chard. These beautiful greens can be found all year in the market and are an excellent source of Vitamin A, lutein, zeaxanthin and bioflavonoids with antioxidant effects.

Here is an easy Swiss chard recipe for a healthy and tasty side dish.

You will need two bunches for a family of four to six. Wash the leaves very well. Tear or cut leaves from the stems and chop carefully. In a large pan sauté a chopped onion in a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil for two minutes.

Add a few cloves of chopped garlic, sauté for two minutes more, then add the chopped Swiss chard. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss in some halved grape or cherry tomatoes and sauté until the Swiss chard is tender. Enjoy!
